Description
Crafted in the southern part of the Swartland, between Agter-Paarl and Perdeberg, South Africa, Terre Brûlée’s Chenin Blanc reflects the rich granite soils and the vineyard’s 40-60 year old vines. Owner/winemaker Vincent Carême of Domaine Vincent Carême, Vernou-sur-Brenne, France brings his unique style to bear, melding the best of both Loir Valley and Swartland winemaking heritages. A saline minerality unearthed through natural-yeast fermentation provides the undercurrent to this Chenin Blanc that bristles with rich, melon and stone fruit flavors that linger on the palate through the finish. Notes of bright acidity balance the nuances of toasted oakwood that elegantly touches on the Terre Brûlée namesake.
